Our Beliefs and our Mission

The mission of Zion Lutheran Church is to share the love of Jesus!

We are a Lutheran congregation that focuses on the work of salvation of Jesus Christ.  We believe that God raised up Martin Luther to bring back the certainty that we are saved by God’s grace alone through faith.  We have this message through the blessings of Faith alone, Scripture alone and grace alone.

We believe in the Holy Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
We believe that we are sinful from birth and daily sin and need God’s forgiveness and help.
We believe that Holy Spirit is the one that works to bring us to faith through the Gospel so that we are able to confess Jesus as Lord.
We believe that in baptism God is welcoming us as His child and giving us forgiveness of sin, eternal life, and rescue from death and the devil.
We believe that in the Lord’s Supper, we receive bread and wine, body and blood.  We believe that in this meal God gives to us forgiveness of sin, eternal life, and strengthening of our faith.
We believe that God sends us into our daily lives to share and to shine the love and forgiveness of Jesus.
We believe in that God answers our prayers and daily helps us through each day.

Our History:

On October 1, 1861, nine families met in the John Falkenhagen log cabin to begin a new parish. With the help of John Doerfler and his assistant, William Kroenke, a constitution was drafted. Five days later on October 6, 1861, Zion Lutheran Church came into existence.

We are a member congregation of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.:
